About Sirius Bright

Electrical contractors working across Gauteng — homes, businesses and industry. Quoted before we start, tested when we finish, certified where it counts.

Sirius Everything (Pty) Ltd trades as Sirius Bright. We are electrical contractors working across Gauteng — homes, businesses and industry — and we do the whole job: the diagnosis, the repair, the testing and the certificate that proves it was done properly.

What we actually do

Most of our work falls into four groups. Domestic electrical work: fault finding, distribution board replacements, rewiring, geyser and stove circuits, and the Certificates of Compliance that property transfers depend on. Commercial work: shopfitting and tenant installations, lighting upgrades, three-phase distribution, emergency lighting and maintenance contracts. Industrial work: motor control, plant breakdowns, control panels and planned maintenance. And solar and backup power: grid-tied, hybrid and off-grid systems, inverters, batteries and generator changeover.

We are electrical contractors first and solar installers second, and that order matters. Mounting panels is the straightforward part of a solar installation. What decides whether the system is safe, insurable and legal is the DC protection, the earthing, the board work and the certification — and every one of those is electrical work.

How we work

  • You get a price before we start. We diagnose, then quote, then work. No open-ended hourly billing, and no invoice that arrives larger than the conversation you had.
  • We give arrival times we can keep. A real window rather than an optimistic one, and a call when the electrician is on the way. If we are going to be late, you hear it from us first.
  • Work is tested, not just finished. Every job is tested on completion with instruments, and a Certificate of Compliance is issued wherever one is required, with the test results attached.
  • We tell you when the problem is not ours to fix. If your fault is on the supply side rather than inside your installation, we will say so — and you will not pay us to discover that twice.

The standard we work to

All electrical installation work in South Africa is governed by SANS 10142-1, the wiring code of practice, and by the Electrical Installation Regulations. Only a registered person may issue a Certificate of Compliance, and only after inspecting and testing the installation. Anyone offering you a certificate over the phone, or without attending the property, is selling you a document that will not protect you when it matters.

While we are on the subject, here is the rule most people are told wrongly: a COC is valid for the life of the installation, provided nothing has been altered or added since it was issued. It does not expire every two years. The two-year rule applies to property transfer — when a property is sold, the certificate presented may not be older than two years. That is the only place the figure comes from.

Who we work for

Homeowners and landlords who need something fixed or certified. Estate agents and conveyancers working to a transfer date. Body corporates and managing agents dealing with common-property installations. Shop, restaurant and office tenants fitting out a space. Factories and workshops that cannot afford to stand still. The work differs; the approach does not.

Where we work

We cover Gauteng — Johannesburg, Sandton, Randburg, Fourways, Midrand, Roodepoort and Soweto; Pretoria, Centurion and the north; the whole East Rand from Kempton Park through to Springs and Nigel; the West Rand; and the Vaal. There is a page for every area we serve, with detail about what the electrical work is actually like there.

We deliberately do not claim to cover the whole country. Response times are the thing clients judge us on, and you cannot promise those across nine provinces.
